Tzatziki Salad (from the Turkish word cacık), is a salad served with grilled meats or as a dip. Tzatziki is made of salted natural yogurt mixed with cucumbers, garlic, salt, olive oil, sometimes with vinegar or lemon juice, and some herbs like dill, mint, parsley, thyme etc. It is generally served as a cold meze.
One of the nicest Tzatziki Salad we enjoyed was at a little restaurant in the Turkish port of Kuşadası. Kusadasi is a beach resort town on Turkey’s western Aegean coast. A jumping-off point for visiting the classical ruins at nearby Ephesus (or Efes). The restaurant was just offshore on Pigeon Island which is a walled Byzantine castle that once guarded the town, connected to the mainland via causeway.

What is cooler and lighter than a summer cucumber? With that in mind, this is the easiest summer salad you will ever make and the lightest. It combines a light version of the most popular Greek dip tzatziki, with cucumbers. This cucumber salad is perfect as an accompaniment for any summer meal, especially barbecues.
