Negroni Sbagliato

What could be better than sitting outside sipping a light, a perfectly balanced Negroni Sbagliato cocktail before an unhurried summer night begins?

Sbagliato means “messed up” or “mistaken” in Italian. The Negroni Sbagliato is said to be the result of a busy bartender. He mistakenly using sparkling wine instead of gin in a Negroni, we think it turned out to be a pretty happy accident.

What could be better than sitting outside sipping a light, a perfectly balanced Negroni Sbagliato cocktail before an unhurried summer night begins?

Ingredients

  • 1 Part Campari
  • 1 Part Martini Rosso
  • 1 part Prosecco

Instructions

1

Combine vermouth and Campari over ice in a rocks glass and stir.

2

Top with Prosecco and garnish with an orange slice.

Wine Match

Prosecco Spumante Borgo di Sassi is ideal Negroni Sbagliato. Crisp apples, soft pear, and a bright citrus zing make it a stonking match with seafood. And at pretty much less than half the price of a bottle of traditional Champagne, it’s top value. Available from Naked Wines.
