The Mojito is one of the most refreshing cocktails ever made. White rum, sugar, mint, and lime juice. On the hot days of summer there is nothing better than an ice cold Mojito. Try muddling a berry into it as well, make a strawberry, blackberry or raspberry Mojito.
It may be surprising to learn that the mojito is a member of this extended Daiquiri Family.

What are Daiquiri’s?
Daiquiri’s are a very popular family of cocktails. Today the name typically implies something fruity and summery, but if we consider it a style of cocktail then by changing the ingredients it is capable of many iterations. A daiquiri is a drink leaning more towards the sour of citrus, than the other ingredients. I say leaning because, typically its true, but certainly not a hard a fast rule. One thing that is true of a well made cocktail in the daiquiri family is they require attention.
Because of the citrus forward nature of this style of cocktail it can’t just be slung together with consistent effect. As example, a gin martini is based on two liquors which are perfectly consistent. The recipe will work every time you make it. A citrus forward drink depends on the fruit, which is not as consistent.
Therefore, you may not be surprised to learn of the family members in the Daiquiri family, these are usually more careful refined cocktails. Here are a few we have made, that range from obvious to “really, that is based on a daiquiri”*
